Today (I wrote this text on the 16th of August, 2023), I want to write about the exhilarating joy of movement.
I wrote this post in the middle of a heatwave in Poland. For the last three days, I have not been doing street photography, a hobby that often involves long walks to find the perfect shot. What is worse, I probably won’t do it for the next three to four days. The temperatures outside are scorching. During this period, I was reminded and realized, not the first time in my life, how I love walking. I do not have to say that, in my case, walking and street photography go hand in hand. Even though I was not walking as usual and doing street photography as usual, I was taking night walks with my beloved Kamilka. We did it at 11 p.m. when it was still warm.
In the weather forecast, they call such warm nights the ‘African Nights.’
I’ve already written a text stating I do not want to live in warm countries. Today, I want to stick to my opinion from the past. The older I am, the more I appreciate the moderate Polish climate.
Thanks to this climate, I can cherish the joy of movement not only while doing street photography but also during my walks with my beloved Parents in Brok and Kamilka. For me, the joy of movement is not just about physical activity but also about the mental and emotional benefits it brings. It’s a form of meditation, a way to connect with nature, and a source of inspiration.
While writing all these things, I realized I miss walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures.
I just want to go out and freeze my body to become more robust and powerful. I did not mention I gained weight last time. Why? It is because I overeat seasonal fruits, such as blueberries, raspberries, and sweet and sour cherries. I have no doubts that thanks to the joy of movement and exposing my body to cold soon, my weight will return to its normal state.
