Last time I thought that immortality would probably be a golden cage to people. I have no doubts that I would not like to live in such a cage.
Living forever is something that would probably a nightmare to us. Limited time on Earth that we can call our whole lives should make us start to wonder why we appeared in this world and try to find a true meaning to our existence. Why do I think that immortality would be a golden cage to us? I imagined one situation that someone received immortality. Still, at the same time, one had to go to life imprisonment in the far East of Russia, Siberia. Wouldn’t it be an absolute horror to be imprisoned for a neverending lifetime?
Many people (including Freddie Mercury in the Queen’s song named „Who wants to live forever?”) dream of becoming immortal.
I am not the one who does it. I am convinced that thanks to possessing a limited life, we must focus on our meaningful life goals. For many people, this goal is appropriately to raise one’s child. For me, that’s one of the noblest and beautiful aims to reach. Still, I believe that we can try to do something more than that. Do I mean that we should focus on money earning? There is nothing wrong with the multiplication of wealth. Still, I do not consider this activity as a meaningful aim to one’s existence.
Nevertheless, I want to stress that I hope to become immortal in people’s memories, thanks to my artistic activities.
I believe that I won’t be forgotten thanks to all things I do (taking photos, writing texts, preparing editions of „Diaries” or creating works like „Negation of the End” or „Living in Poland.”). Speaking shortly: I am convinced that all my works of art would become memorable to posterity. Thanks to them, I will also remain remembered. I want to live, create, and feel free, and I hope that I will never live ( literally and lyrically) in a golden cage.
