Today (I wrote this text on the 29th of December, 2024), I was reminded about the healing power of cold showers.
The truth is that today, I’ve been walking and doing street photography for the 5th day in a row. To be more precise, I was rucking (walking with an additional 25 kg [55 lbs] in my backpack). After five days of walking, my muscles hurt a little bit. I felt muscle pain not only on my back and shoulders but also on my knees. How happy I am that I discovered cold showers for myself over three and half years ago (I started practicing them in April 2021). Today, I reminded myself about the healing properties of this tremendous activity. The truth is that I sometimes take cold showers without enthusiasm. I take them because I simply got used to them.
That’s the way it is in my case.
While writing all these things, I reminded myself that cryotherapy is one of the fundamental things in today’s professional sports. Does cold hurt? Yes, it hurts. I wrote about this in one of my previous posts. Luckily, the cold also heals. It heals not only muscles. Undoubtedly, it also heals the human mind. Not only cold showers but, in general, exposing one’s body to coldness would bring many advantages. After all, today, I was walking in summer clothes (including a www.adammazek.com t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers) while it was 4 degrees Celsius (39 degrees Fahrenheit).
Interesting is the fact that my back is wet after today’s rucking.
I was sweating. What does it mean? For me, it means that the physical activity was tremendous. I think it was the first time in my life that I was sweating while it was so cold outside. After returning, I felt pain in my muscles. Luckily, after a cold shower, the pain disappeared. Good night, my Dear Friend! Do not forget about the healing power of a cold shower!
