Today (I wrote this text on the 30th of July, 2023), I will write about the irony of fate that happened to me.
On the day I published the “Nothing happens” text (it happened on the 8th of May, 2023), I realized that I wrote this text on the eve of the outbreak of aggressive war in Ukraine. I wrote the text on the 23rd of February, 2023, and the warfare began on the 24th of February, 2023. Why did I call the current text “The Irony of Fate?” I did so because one day before the outbreak of war on the borders of my homeland, I wrote that nothing interesting had happened in my life and that I was pursuing my private, professional, and hobbyist plans.
Speaking briefly, the day after writing that nothing particular happened in my life, the war in Ukraine broke out. Isn’t it the irony of fate? Undoubtedly, it is.
Should I write today that in my life, there are too many things at once, and I want to pause and rest, and tomorrow, I will wake with peace in my mind, heart, and soul? I suppose if I did it, I’d already die, and I wake up but not on the planet Earth. The older I am, the more I feel and see the difficulty is destiny. I know it is convenient to write about many topics while lying comfortably on the couch. At the same time, Ukrainians have been bombarded by the Russian orcs for almost one and a half years. I believe those who survive the war will be much tougher than before. I think Ukraine, as a country, will be much more reliable, transparent, and robust after the Russian invasion ends.
The irony of fate is that fact Putin attacked Ukraine to prevent NATO from spreading near the Russian borders. He wanted Ukraine to become part of Russia, not NATO.
Meanwhile, another Russian neighbor, Finland, joined NATO. Once Sweden does the same, the Baltic Sea will become an internal NATO lake. Congratulations, Putin, for “securing” Russia’s influence in Europe. I hope Russia will mentally remain in the XIX century and will never be a danger to other European countries after Ukraine’s victory.
