The last thing I want to do.

When I get up after 6 a.m. before work, the last thing I want to do is get into an icy shower.

In turn, once I get out of that shower, the last thing I want to do is get back into a warm bed and sleep. To put it in a nutshell, cold showers after 6 a.m. give me a kick for the day, although once I get out of my warm and cuddly bed, I don’t want to take them at all. I wrote many times here, on the www.adammazek.com blog, that I love to take showers. Still, I’ve never done it after 6 a.m. in October and November.

One year earlier, I took cold showers after work or in the evening. Since March 2022, I decided to take icy showers early in the morning before the job. Today (I wrote this text on the 1st of November, 2022), I must admit that getting up when it is dark and cold outside when I want to sleep in the cozy bed and take an icy shower seems more challenging to me than ever.

Did I give up by resigning from taking a cold shower? Never. Am I sad I do it? Never.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this text, the last thing I want to do after taking an icy morning shower is to get back to bed. The truth is that after exposing my body to cold, I feel ready for the upcoming day. My mind and body are prepared for challenges. I cannot imagine my life without freezing showers. The truth is that the water temperatures are lower in the Autumn/Winter period than during the Spring/Summer period. Taking icy showers early in the morning is a tough challenge, but I have no doubts the effort is worth doing. I will finish this writing. I will walk with my parents in Brok’s Wood (Puszcza Biala).
