The more answers…

The more answers to questions we find, the farther we get from knowing the truth. Why?

Adam Mazek Photography 2023. Warsaw Street Photography. Post: "The more answers..." Minimalism.

Because with each discovery comes dozens of new questions and doubts. Undoubtedly, the human civilization learning curve is an infinite process. We all will be learning until we die. I am not a scientist. Still, this fact does not prevent me from reading books about science (especially astronomy) and enjoying the ongoing process of how human civilization progresses in reaching knowledge about the Solar System and the whole Universe. The same issue is with me. The older I am, the wiser I become. Still, I do not feel smart at all.

I think I’m dumb. Maybe just happy.

As Kurt Cobain sang in Nirvana’s song entitled “Dumb.” Why do I still feel dumb even though I am getting wiser year by year? It is because the more I know, the more I see and feel, and the more questions, doubts, and inquiries I have. Still, I want to stress that I am generally a happy person. The lack of knowledge about many things does not prevent me from being happy and who I am. Does that mean I will stop reading books? Of course not. I will read as many books as possible. I am curious about the world, including science and art. My symbolical quest towards understanding surrounding reality lies in street photography.

During each photo walk, my childish astonishment at this world bursts into my imagination. I feel like an alien who just landed on Earth and wants to know everything around him. Curiosity is something that makes all of us humans. I must confess I do not know what I wanted to stress in this text. I was writing it straight out of my mind. Perhaps I wanted to emphasize that the eternal desire to gain knowledge will be with humanity until our last days. Still, the more answers we get, the farther we get from knowing the truth.
