The more I do it, the more I desire to do it.

February 26, 2025 by Adam Mazek

The last time (I wrote this text on the 17th of February, 2024), I noticed I often use the “The more I do it, the more I desire to do it” phrase. That’s why I decided to write something about it.

When do I use the titled phrase? I do it mainly when I write about walking, doing street photography, writing, intermittent fasting, taking cold showers, walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures, preparing subsequent “Diaries'” editions and sets of pictures like “Negation of the End,” or “Transience.” Undoubtedly, I will be using the titled phrase until my death. I cannot imagine living without all the activities mentioned above. The truth is that I do not see any reason I should stop doing them.

On the contrary, by doing them, I believe I do something great not only for myself but also for the whole of humankind.

I wish all other people to have such positive and crazy addictions as I have. Of course, it does not mean they should have the same things they love to do. I simply wish others had a passion to which they would devote most of their spare time. The truth is that I do not want anyone to be addicted to drugs, alcohol, and other shitty stuff that people can do, e.g., smoking cigarettes. I want to be tough and brave and spend the rest of my life without addictions.

Was I addicted to something in the past?

I think I was addicted to eating processed food, with chocolate bars and candies and other shitty sweet stuff, for many years. Today, I am a free man who does not bow to pressure for instant gratifications. The more I am free of external pleasures and desires, the more fulfilled I am. Thus, I know I will create many new works of art in the upcoming years.
