While spending time with my beloved Kamilka and our cat Azorek in the Latvian town of Liepaja, I reminded myself about the sun that does not burn.
I wrote this text on the 17th of June, 2025. It was the second day of our stay in Liepaja. On the first day, it was cloudy and rainy. On the second day, the sun was shining practically the whole day. During the time we were walking on the sandy Baltic beach, I recalled that, luckily, there were places where the sun did not burn my skin. These are, among others, the Baltic states. One year ago, we were in the Estonian town of Parnu. We have never been so far north in the northern hemisphere as in Estonia.
We believe it is only a matter of time before we go to the northernmost parts of Scandinavia, e.g., to see the northern lights in December in the Norwegian City of Tromso.
Still, today, we are in Latvia, and we genuinely enjoy the long, sunny, warm, and windy days. As of now, I have managed to take 300 pictures. Also, we managed to take over 10k steps daily. Were we feasting and eating from dusk till dawn? Yes, we were doing it. I drank a lot of beer. I am not proud of myself. Still, that’s the way it is. I will return to intermittent fasting and rucking after our vacation ends.
For now, we just simply want to enjoy the freedom and the sun that does not burn.
Does it mean that the sun in Latvia and Estonia does not warm one’s body? Luckily, it does. Still, it does not do it on the same level as Poland, Hungary, or Greece (not to mention the African countries). Do we plan to visit the countries of the south to feel the sun’s burning rays? For today, we do not plan such trips, because we do not need them.
