I want to imitate the tree.
No, I do not wish to overgrow with branches and leaves. I do not want my skin to transform into the brown wood bark. Also, I do not want to imitate the tree by standing in one place for hundreds of years. The steady, slow, and calm growth of the tree inspired me regarding my passion: photography and running this blog. I want to build up my hobbies without hurry, at a slow pace. This tempo could be comparable to the rhythm of the tree’s growth. The truth is that the development of my passions takes place in my life since October 2015, and I hope that nothing stops me from doing what I love to do. I am planning to do this consistently until the end of my life.
I believe that we can receive inspiration almost from everything that surrounds us.
The inspiration to write this blog post came to my mind when I woke up in the morning and looked through the window. The view is slightly constant. I see the trees. Proud, stately trees that are slowly, stolidly, and steadily growing. When I saw them, I decided to write something about them because the trees are often quite a vital element of my photographs. I decided to pay them tribute somehow. Eventually, these are trees that give us oxygen. We are still alive, thanks to them. As usual, when such inspiration comes to my mind, I write the notes on my iPhone to get back to them later.
Trees can be truly inspirational.
As Carl Gustav Jung wrote in his book, “The Book of Symbols,” the tree can show us how, from a tiny, individual seed, the self can come into existence. The tree is also the symbol of being born again. We have left the bodies of our ancestors in wood coffins. In most of the religions, these bodies are waiting for rebirth. Here, tree signifies the resurgence. For alchemists, the tree represents not only a place of awakening to a new life but also the suffering. Suicides and executions were done in the woods throughout the history of humankind.
Nevertheless, the tree, for me, is the symbol of steady and continued growth. I am continually adopting it in my passions, both photography, and writing.
