The older I am, the more I see that the truth is like infinity.
We can be closer to the truth, constantly strive for it and pursue many topics, but we will never really reach it. Similarly, we will never reach the end of the edge of the Universe. We will never know the ultimate, universal truth and the answer to what the Universe really is. We will endlessly discover the world around us and invariably answer new questions. Still, we will never come close to answering the most fundamental questions about the Universe and our place in it. There will be dozens and hundreds of subsequent questions with each answer given. The process of discovering, learning, and knowing this world is a process that will never end. That’s why the truth is like infinity. The closer we get to it, paradoxically, the further we are. These things do not mean we should stop seeking the truth or exploring the Solar System.
Contrary, I believe that discovering the world surrounding us is our existence’s fundamental aim.
Even if we are doing it until our civilization’s final end, I have no doubts that seeking answers to questions is entrenched in our minds and souls. Sometimes I am sad a little bit because I know that after my death, undoubtedly, there will be many breakthrough discoveries in the science world. For today (I wrote this text on the 19th of December, 2021), I hope to see images taken by James Webb Space Telescope.
Moreover, I hope to get to know data provided by JWST and processed by NASA for non-scientific minds. The more JWST reveals information, the more questions and doubts will arise. Still, I have no doubts that the whole world of astrophysics science cannot wait to see spectacular images and get to know new information. Undoubtedly, we will seek answers endlessly.
