I wrote this text on the 27th of May 2018. It was the date when I knew that the first vernissage of my photographic exhibition would take place on the 14th of June 2018.
Before my vernissage, I had no idea what to expect from such kind of exhibition. The event took place in the “Przystawki” restaurant (Stawki 3, Warsaw). In this post, I want to share my feelings before the vernissage. Do you know, my Dear Friend, what my thoughts looked like? I imagined my presence on the vernissage, in the same way as we can see Michael Jackson’s presence on the “Liberian Girl” video clip. If you do not know what I mean, google this movie. I wouldn’t say I like the crowd.
Moreover, I do not want to be at the center of anything. I possess an introverted personality. Thus, I honestly prefer to stand aside myself, observe, analyze, and listen.
I believe that launching and running this website is somehow proof of all these things mentioned above.
I discovered that it is convenient and efficient for me to communicate with people by writing. Fyodor Dostoyevsky was also one of the famous writers who did not like the crowds. Groups of people were tiring him. He was clearly describing it in his letters. But, what’s most important, he was a very prolific writer. His thoughts still inspire others.
By the way, Zdzislaw Beksinski was also the one who did not like to attend his vernissages. I think that I somehow understand all these people.
I prefer to talk in small groups of people, without the splendor and the glitz. In general, I do not want to be famous. My artistic activity aims to leave a trace for posterity. I hope my art will become a magic art legacy to ancestors. Now, I hope you understand, my Dear Friend, why I love how Michael Jackson appeared in the “Liberian Girl” video clip. I prefer a quiet life and focus on my loved ones, and my passion is connected with photography.
PS
I want to thank all the people who helped me prepare my first vernissage and all the attendants. You all are truly brilliant! 🙂
