Today (I wrote this text on the 10th of May, 2025), I will write about time perspective in relation to my photos and activities I do while doing street photography.
I wrote many times that I was convinced that both rucking and walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures would not impact the quality of my photographs. Nevertheless, today, while walking and rucking (I had 35 kg [77 lbs.] of an additional burden on my back and shoulders), I had opposite thoughts. It is not the case that I thought that rucking and walking in summer clothes in cold weather would decrease the quality of my pictures. I believe that the key to answering my questions lies in the “time perspective” phrase.
I have no doubt that I will only be able to assess whether walking in summer clothes in sub-zero temperatures and with a hefty backpack had an impact on the quality of my photos after a more extended period of time.
Perhaps, I would never be able to judge it, and only art connoisseurs after my death could spot the differences between pictures I took between October 2015 and the Fall/Winter season 2021/2022. Why did I provide this period of time? It was because I started doing street photography in October 2015, and I’ve been walking in the cold in freezing temperatures since the Fall/Winter season 2021/2022.
Since when did I start rucking? It happened in the middle of August 2024. I am simply curious if the quality of my photos would change between all these periods. For today, I do not think so. Still, Â I can be simply wrong. That’s why I started to write the “Time perspective” post. Undoubtedly, time perspective can change the view of many people towards many topics. The case with my artistic activity is not an exception in this matter.
