I chose to produce Art.
Undoubtedly, to produce Art, I must consume a little bit of it, with books and songs at the forefront. I sometimes wonder whether broadly defined literature or music inspires me more. I do not have an answer to it. The truth is that I simply take many incentives, both from literature and music. I need to nourish my mind, heart, and soul to produce something meaningful by myself. How do I consume literature? Within the last few years (I wrote this text on the 29th of April, 2023), I’ve read many Taschen books about broadly defined culture.
Moreover, my other favorite publishing houses are the English Phaidon and Thames & Hudson.
I’ve also read books prepared by these publishing houses. How do I consume music? Of course, by listening to it. I wrote many texts about David Bowie and the Beatles. Everything mentioned above is just the tip of the iceberg of everything connected with the Art I consume daily. I have no doubts that thanks to consuming many various things, I also produce something unique and meaningful. I have no doubts that all my work will be remembered by future generations.
The more I write about all these things, the more I feel that without Art consumption, there would be no Art production.
I can easily imagine a similar case with other Artists who simply took incentives and inspiration from each other. The longer I live, the more I see that many people consume Art (e.g., by watching TV movies). They do not produce anything. I do not know how, but I would like to encourage such people so that they can also create something meaningful. After all, each human’s life story is worth describing. Yours too, my Dear Friend. Consume Art, read, watch, and listen. Still, do not forget about the creation process. Believe me, the effort is worth it.
