Today (I wrote this text on the 29th of August, 2023), I will communicate two pieces of advice for Elon Musk.
Without a doubt, I won’t be advising Elon Musk on how to make money. He’s the one who could teach me a thing or two about that. However, I do have two pieces of advice for one of the wealthiest men in the world. The first is a matter of urgency: do not support Russia; support Ukraine. By doing so, you will be on the right side of history. The second piece of advice is more of a long-term vision. Elon Musk’s ambition to colonize Mars is not just a personal goal, but a monumental one for all of humanity.
Nevertheless, when I think about it, I wonder why he does not want to colonize lifeless Antarctica’s mountains or the inaccessible and boundless Ocean’s depths.
Speaking shortly: If we can’t build self-sustaining colonies in Antarctica and at the bottom of the Ocean, we certainly won’t do it on another planet. Training colonization in these extreme environments could provide invaluable insights and solutions for the challenges we would face on Mars. I hope my pieces of advice will reach Elon Musk. Still, I won’t be surprised if they won’t. In today’s post, I want to stress we have tremendous places to train colonizations of inaccessible places on Earth. We do not have to wait to send the first humans to Mars to start colonization of alien worlds.
We have Other Worlds on our planet.
Let’s train there! I’ve already written a text in which I wrote that mountains in Antarctica are the only lifeless places on Earth. There are not even a single bacteria there! This environment is too harsh even for them. That’s why there is no better way to train colonization of outer worlds in Antarctica’s mountains or the Ocean’s bottom. I cannot imagine why such extraordinary visionaries working at SpaceX did not try to establish living bases on a remote continent or deep in the Ocean. The latter base I would name Octopus’s Garden (long live Ringo Starr!).
