Walking, whether from point A to point B, literally and figuratively, makes us moving forward in a broadly defined life’s development.
When we add to it making pictures, as in my case, there is no doubt that I make progress in a broadly defined art of living. However, every step forward takes us back to the roots.
Ashes to ashes dust to dust.
I believe that most people forget about this text, which derives from the Bible. The land we walk on, with which we have contact, is at the same time a place to which we will return with our death. Thus, I believe that my passion, which is strictly connected with walking and keeping my feet on the ground, reminds me of death.
But why we have to think about our death? Isn’t life too short that we have to think about the end?
You could ask me, my Dear Friend. Indeed, life is short. What is worse, for many people, life is harsh. But, there is one ultimate reason of why we should think about death. The sooner we realize that our life will end, the sooner we notice that no matter what we do in our life, it will end by death, sooner or later. Thus, we should not treat our life too seriously.
If we all die, does it mean that we can do anything that we want? Even kill another human?
You can reply to me, my Dear Friend. I believe that the meaning of the shortness of our life tells us, most of all, that we should possess the ultimate goal for our living. I am convinced that the ultimate goal is not to earn money, as most of the capitalists would say. For me, it is to leave something precious for posterity. I believe that my images and texts will remain to know for a hundred years.
Thus, walking, putting feet on the ground reminds me that I do something relevant for other people. I know that I do not waste my time on insignificant issues.
