War in Ukraine: I hope that I will never have to change my camera for a gun.

March 23, 2022 by Adam Mazek

While doing street photography, I imagined myself as a Territorial Defence Force soldier who changed camera for a gun.

I wrote this text on the 4th of March, 2022. Yesterday, while walking in frigid temperatures (it was 1 degree Celsius [33,8 degrees Fahrenheit]) in the www.adammazek.com t-shirt, I started to visualize myself wearing a military uniform and holding a rifle instead of my Nikon D-90 camera. Moreover, I began to envisage that blocks of flats surrounding me were bombarded and destroyed. Instead of cars stuck in the traffic jam, I saw damaged tanks. In my visualization, there were only a few people. All of them were soldiers with weapons. I hope that my nightmarish phantasm will never come true.

Undoubtedly, my imagination gave me such pictures because of the war in Ukraine.

I saw many footages from this terrific battlefield. I still hope that somehow it will finish sooner than later. My commons sense tells me that war would last for many months or even years. The last thing I will lose is the hope that war will end quickly and that it won’t spread to other countries. Putin is finished in an international diplomatic environment. I hope that the Russian generals and Putin’s close advisors know it.

Thus, I hope that someone will kill him. Putin’s aggressive decisions are a road to nowhere. There will be no winners from this war, only losers. I hate Putin for everything he has done. Even if he isn’t killed, I hope that he will be life imprisoned. There are rumors that Putin is already hiding in the Ural mountains like a rat in the Polish media. The Russian madman scares the whole world of the nuclear war. Undoubtedly, he is shaking with fear of being killed. He who terrorizes is himself shaking with fear. We are waiting for the Russian substitute of the ancient Roman Brutus, who had killed Julius Caesar. I hope that soon someone will kill Putin. I do not want to change my camera for a gun.
