The first years of the third decade of the XXI century proved that there is no such thing as a peaceful life.
I suppose most people do know the ending phrase from many fairy tales:
they lived happily ever after.
I think that most people dream of life without stress and worries. Today (I wrote this text on the 9th of March, 2022), I feel all my mind, heart, and soul that no one would ever get a stress-free existence. Firstly, it was the coronavirus pandemic that changed Western global societies’ minds and behaviors. When most of us thought the pandemic was ending, something atrocious and toxic erupted. Yes, of course, I mean war in Ukraine. I do not doubt that when I am watching pictures made in the first and second decades of the XXI century, I know that these photographs will be telling me about years before the chaos.
Moreover, I have no doubts that confusion started knocking on all Europeans’ doors and windows.
Probably it is a matter of time when this chaos will begin to pour not only into our houses but also into our hearts, minds, and souls. There won’t be a peaceful life for Europeans. Maybe war in Ukraine is the beginning of the third world war that can be a nuclear war. Nothing seems to be the same as before the war and pandemic time. Does that mean I plan to lie down and wait for my final end? Of course not. I love life. I hope to live one hundred years.
Even if war erupts in Poland, I won’t escape.
I will do my best to defend my country. In the meantime, I go to my accounting job and do street photography. I won’t let fucking Putin ruin my life and plans. The truth is that I want him to die. I know it is wishful thinking. Still, today I cannot do more except write about war and donate to Ukrainian refugees. I hope that Putin won’t waste too many Ukrainians’ lives. I believe all those Ukrainians who survive the war will have as peaceful lives as possible.
