There is probably only one kind of transport which cannot inspire me. I was thinking about it while being on my way to work.
For me, the only standard, uninspiring, and boring kind of commuting between point A and point B is commuting to work. In general, I do it by car. When I do it, I often feel stressed (because I want to get there as fast as possible). It is the only moment in my life while moving into the city when I do not analyze the surroundings or take photographs.
Luckily, as usual, there are exceptions. There are days when I walk to work on foot, not by car.
It is the moment, while on my way to work, I feel relaxed and happy because I can make the biggest passion of my life – street photography. The fact is that practically all trips, whether internal in the city or between the cities and countries, are inspiring. While traveling, I always want to stop for a while in some places and take photographs of the surroundings between my home and the destination. I often do not wait to get to the final point of every trip.
Areas placed in-between are the ones that interest me the most.
Nevertheless, the exception is my commuting to work. Traffic jams, rush hours on the streets make me nervous, not only me but 99% of other people. Everyone wants to get to the office as quickly as possible. Also, a lot of people are pissed off at each other. The only thing which interests them is to get to the office as soon as possible. I live in Mokotow district, near “Mordor on Domaniewska street.” It is the place where 100.000 people daily commute to work, to their offices.
Thus, traveling to work is the only way of moving between point A and point B, which does not bring me joy. I rarely can take photographs during this trip. Thus, I am a little sad, not because I go to work, but because I do not have time to take photos.
