One does not have to be a keen observer of the world to conclude that we all are street photographers.
When almost everyone has a smartphone with a camera, we can undoubtedly name ourselves “street photographers.” My Dear Friend, if you read my blog, you can easily state that Adam Mazek is a street photographer. I do not know you. Still, if you read this blog, I assume you have a mobile phone with a camera. I can easily imagine you taking photos of many things you see, beginning with trees and flowers and ending with architecture and sunset. One hundred years ago (I wrote this text on the 17th of January, 2023), only a few people could name themselves street photographers. Today, we all are street photographers. Are there better and worse people who take photos on the streets? Yes, there are. Still, some photographers take pictures more and others less frequently.
I belong to the first group. I do street photography as often as it is possible.
Moreover, I would say I became addicted to it. That’s the main difference between me and the rest of society. Still, everyone who takes pictures on the streets is a street artist. It is only up to us how much we will develop our passion and desire to take photographs on the streets. Some of us will limit ourselves to taking pictures of, e.g., trees, and others will sacrifice many things to do it as often as possible. Practice makes us perfect. We all know it. Still, not all of us will devote much of our spare time to street photography. I am not one of them. I plan to do it until my death. Creating photos on Warsaw’s streets empowers me. It makes me feel better and more powerful.
