We need lazy days.

September 28, 2024 by Adam Mazek

We all need those rejuvenating lazy days that replenish our energy and refresh our minds.

Let’s delve into the compelling reasons that underscore our need for lazy days to not just survive but to thrive. The older I am, the more I see and feel we all need lazy days to thrive. Even though I am not a scientist and I cannot explain scientifically, on the levels of neurons, why we need lazy days, I know they are simply necessary to be prolific not only in professional work but in whole life, with art at the forefront.

How long should people sleep?

As far as I know, we should sleep at least 7-8 hours. Do I manage to do it? Unfortunately, no. Still, I often try to take some naps after my professional job. I doubt they are a proper replacement for the long and healthy dream. Still, it is better to do it than nothing. Undoubtedly, when I am rested, many ideas appear in my mind.

Moreover, after proper sleep, I read much more efficiently.

Working hard is also critical. People need it to do great things. Hard work is a fundamental part of powerful societies. Still, I want to encourage you, my Dear Friend, to work only if you believe in it. Without this faith, it is better to find something more suitable for yourself. If you feel guilty you do nothing at home, I would not do it. Personally, I would not recommend being angry with oneself because of laziness. Of course, if someone is lazy for most days of their life – that is a problem.

Still, if you work hard and do not have enough power and energy for the rest of your day, do not feel guilty that you do nothing productive. We’re all humans. We have a right to have slow days where laziness appears in our lives. We simply need them. Still, we should do it wisely. Too much everything won’t help you anyhow, my Dear Friend.
