A few years ago, I discovered what we can do with developed photographs.
Undoubtedly, we can add all developed pictures to the photo album. Later on, we can easily watch and analyze them. It is one of the most pleasing ways to observe one’s images. In most families, there many photo albums waiting to be watched by other people. Still, a few years ago, I discovered one practical use for developed photographs. While attending classes at a photography school in 2016-2018, I developed over 500 photos for school. I gave some of these photos to good souls, that is, parts to my beloved Friends (whom I want to greet right now and wish them all the best!). Most of these photos, however, I keep at home. What will their fate be? I have no idea. However, I know that so far, I have convenient benefits from some of them. What?
When reading a dozen or more books at the same time, photos serve as bookmarks.
Simply. As of today, this is the only practical application of them. Sometimes I wonder what will happen with my photographic bookmarks several decades after my death. Perhaps they will be forgotten for decades. Then, someone would discover them, and it becomes evident that their value would rocket compared to their today’s value. The truth is that some of these photos are already signed. It means that decades after my death, they will be worth much more than today.
Am I daydreaming? Undoubtedly, yes, I do it. I like to do it. I can only dream and predict what would happen with my developed photographs after my death. For today, I use them as bookmarks. Still, I can imagine that they would be a fixed part of an exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in the distant future. Perhaps my developed photographs that are today bookmarks would become a hidden treasure someday.
