When I Was Young.

Eric Burdon and the Animals’ song, “When I Was Young,” gave me a stimulus to write this text.

After listening to it, I wondered what I could say after starting the statement with the “When I was young” phrase. Many thoughts appeared in my mind. Still, the most crucial is the one that I started to realize that the older I am, the younger I feel deep in my mind and soul. Is that mean that I am, e.g., unresponsible? No. I feel that my life wisdom clarifies day by day, year by year.

Moreover, I feel I can express myself more clearly than when I was young.

Thanks to walking, creating, doing intermittent fasting, and taking cold showers, I feel that the process of aging of my body, mind, and soul has dramatically slowed down. As an adolescent, I knew that one has to do some tasks (e.g., study, work, etc.), but I did not know why I should do it. Money-earning was not a sufficient answer for me. Is that mean that today (I wrote this text on the 6th of July, 2022), I know why I learn and work? For me, it is instead a matter of belief. I believe that all humans have an eternal desire to learn, discover, develop, to strive for more, not only money but also knowledge or new stimulus to grow.

Moreover, I think I have more power to do many things today than when I was young.

What would I say to young Adam Mazek, who is eighteen years old? I would tell him many things I write here on my blog. I would encourage him to create, learn, develop, be kind to people, and treat them the same way he would like. Would I tell this young person to stop drinking alcohol? Yes and no. Why? Because I know that I had to drink some beers to feel the difference when I do not drink alcohol. Still, I would encourage him to drink rarely. Was the time when I was young good, old days for me? Yes, they were. Still, I believe that the good old days are today, and the best for me, my beloved ones, and society are yet to come.
