Where is the center of the Universe?

July 11, 2022 by Adam Mazek

I believe that the center of the Universe is within every human’s mind and imagination.

As far as I know, there is no physical center of the Universe. Thus, Ptolemy was symbolically correct that the Earth is the center of the Universe. The world that is being perceived by every human is unique, separate, but there were, are, and will infinite numbers of such worlds. In this case, we can compare that every dimension, the intimate Universe is a bubble. With every birth of a new human, such a bubble, a new Universe appears. At the same time, with every death, every bubble disappears suddenly. Indeed, there is a scientific, powerful idea named anthropic principle.

It was formulated by Brandon Carter in 1973 and later refined by John D. Barrow and Frank Tipler in the 1980s.

The theory states that speaking shortly, perhaps the Universe as we know, could not exist without giving rise to conscious entities capable of observing it. This theory literally means “relating to human beings.” Well, in this case, we, all humans, would be the most crucial things all over the Universe. The anthropic principle says that we cannot correctly understand the Universe without considering our own existence within it. In this case, the center of the Universe, not physically but instead symbolically, would be within each of us.

For me, this theory is somehow convergent with religions and with the infinite aspect of the Universe.

As long as people are being born, the Universe will last until the last human would die. The anthropic principle pours much hope into my mind, heart, and soul. Most post people, often unconsciously, feel that it is a human that counts the most from every other thing. We can tell a story about it, among others, via art. Thus, for me, the center of the Universe is right in my mind, heart, and soul.
