Usually, while starting my photo walk, I ask myself, „Which way to go?”
I wrote about this issue earlier, but themes crucial to me are worth repeating. Before I start every photo walk, I have an idea of which way I will go. Is that mean that I always stick to it? No. I frequently abandon the early plan. The main rule of my doing street photography is to get rid of any limitations. While doing street photography, I feel free as a bird. That’s why I do not want to be limited by anything, even my mind. That’s why I choose the way to go spontaneously, without too much thinking.
Whether I will go north, south, east, or west my decision is driven by free will.
For me, there is no wrong direction regarding street photography. Of course, one day, I can feel that I need a quieter place to contemplate many issues. It is a moment when I choose to go where there will be fewer people or cars.
On the other hand, sometimes I want to go where people are living, where something is going on.
Undoubtedly, street photography provides me a feeling of freedom. Is that mean that I feel enslaved in the golden cage? No, I do not have such feelings. Still, practically all people cannot feel free 100%. We must follow the rules imposed by law. Do I consider it something terrible? Contrary. Anarchy is one of the worst things that could happen to all countries and societies.
Moreover, we are obliged to do many things as members of families or communities. That’s why no one can feel free 100%. Still, I believe that street photography provides the most outstanding possibility of joy and being free deep in one’s mind, heart and soul. Remember, my Dear Friend, it is not as crucial which way you go today to take photos. It is a process that counts, and the possibility that you can stroll and enjoy your walk of life.
