The answer is simple: I prefer to invest money in books. Of course, it is only part of the response.
The fact is that I bought my Nikon D-90 in 2012. In the beginning, I was doing photographs mainly in the “Auto” mode. Later on, I discovered for myself “Aperture mode.” I use this mode until today. In October 2016, I started my Art school. It happened one year since I commenced to take pictures on the streets of Warsaw regularly. I finished school in June 2018. I believe it is an excellent opportunity to say thank you to all my teachers from school.
Mainly I would like to thank Bartosz Mokrzycki and Tomasz Grzyb for all the inspirations and knowledge which they delivered practically during every class.
I will write about them in the future with more details. Also, I would like to thanks all my classmates. Ok, let’s get back to the main topic. When I went to my Art school, I hoped that I would receive useful information about what is the best camera for street photography. Of course, I received this information. Nevertheless, when I experienced the natural optical phenomenon (named camera obscura) during the first days of our lessons, in the school’s darkroom, I was unbelievably amazed.
Moreover, when we started to make photographs by using a shoebox, it dramatically changed my point of view regarding the camera. Thanks to the teachers mentioned above, I realized that for my type of photography, I do not need any specialized equipment. Moreover, I believe that in general, there is no use to seek new, better cameras that continuously appear on the market. It is the human who observes, analyzes, composes, and eventually makes a picture.
The only, and the most potent power to create outstanding images lies in your head.
It is the brain which processes the information taken from the external surrounding. Thus, it is the imagination that makes spectacular photographs. Remember, take pictures first in your vision. Then, use your camera. Changing your camera is not an essential tool to make progress in photography. That is why I plan to take pictures using my good old Nikon D90 until it stops working. Until that time, I prefer to invest money in books. Books can provide us with unbelievable power for the mind. Nevertheless, it is the story to write another post.
