I wrote this text on the 30th of November, 2022, before the Polish National Football Team played a game against Leo Messi’s Argentina.
I did not know the score while I was writing this post. While doing it, I wondered whether Robert Lewandowski somehow managed to overcome Messi in a direct duel on the football pitch. The truth is that I do not only keep my fingers crossed for Ukrainians in their war against Russians but also for the Polish players to manage to qualify for the following Mundial stages. The truth is that Poles managed to do it three years before I was born, that is, in 1982. Speaking shortly: Poles made their last great success on Mundial 40 years ago!
In 1982, we finished Mundial in 3rd place.
One of my dreams is to have Robert Lewandowski’s winning the World Championships. I wish it to him. Still, the truth is that I want the same for Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. All these footballers are almost demigods to me. Still, they are only humans. Lewandowski missed the penalty against Mexico in the first game of the Qatar 2022 Mundial. Poland would have already qualified for the next stage if he had scored. I hope it will be a historic day for Poland. I know I should be independent regarding occurrences I do not have any influence on.
Still, it does not mean I won’t support the Polish players.
I hope they will present the highest possible level they can provide. Who will be better in Lewy vs. Messi’s duel? I do not know. I hope to see the highest possible sport level. Today, street photography and walking in freezing temperatures are not as crucial as football. Today, I will be supporting Poles in their battle against Argentinians. Go Poland! Let the 30th of November, 2022, be a historic day for all the Poles!
