To paraphrase famous Frida Kahlo’s words, “Why do I need feet when I have wings to fly?” I must state today that as long as I walk, I will feel true creative freedom.
I regret that Frida Kahlo had to amputate her right foot in 1953. After this surgical operation, she had lost her will to live. She died in 1954. For me, walking is the essence of life. Without walking, there is no street photography (unless you take virtual journeys on Google Maps). I feel sorry for all people who cannot walk due to, e.g., illness. I often think that my feet are wings. Thanks to wings, I can fly high both on Warsaw’s street and in my imagination. I love rocking in clouds. I do not doubt that walking triggered in my mind many ideas. Later on, most of these insights we could see on the www.adammazek.com website.
My feet and imagination are undoubtedly my imagined wings, thanks to which I know that I can touch the sky.
Only my limited mind and potential amputated feet can prevent me from rocking in clouds in my imagination. I sometimes wonder what I would do in my life if I could not walk. Probably I would focus more on writing and managing my blog. Moreover, I would use photographs I made earlier. I hope that I won’t ever lose the will to live, even if I lose my legs.
For today (I wrote this text on the 26th of September, 2021), I know that as long as I walk with my feet firmly on the ground, I have tremendous power to create more and more odd photographs, insightful texts, and strange works of art, like “Negation of the End,” or “Birds.” I wish you, my Dear Friend, to stay healthy as long as possible. Moreover, I want you to stand firmly on the ground, and at the same time, to rock in the clouds, without limits. Undoubtedly, imagination can be our wings.
