I wrote the “Women” text on the 8th of April, 2019.
Still, somewhat I decided not to publish it earlier. The truth is I do not remember the reason for not sharing this text with you, my Dear Friend. I decided to raise it and give it an entire life on the 10th of October, 2023 (after more than four years!). Ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy the “Women” text:
I am inspired to write this blog post because I saw a documentary film about Polish artist Stanislaw Szukalski last time. In this movie, the Polish sculptor says something about women. Szukalski said that he was creating art to be successful in women. When I heard this, I began thinking: “Nonsense, bullshit. I am not like Szukalski. I do not have feelings and thoughts similar to his.” And you know what, my Dear Friend? It is true. It did not look like some day ago, I woke up, and I decided that I wanted to become an artist to attract the opposite sex. Becoming an artist was a long process with no starting point and will likely never end. Photography is still a passion to which I can devote my life. My attitude to women, in this case, is a secondary matter.
On the other hand, sometimes it seems to me that the willingness to please the opposite sex may be an unconscious factor that caused me to change the direction of my development from a broadly defined finance to becoming an artist.
I suppose that some decisions that we make during our lifetime are not always dictated only by consciousness but also by our unconsciousness. This realization might prompt us to reflect on our own motivations and decisions. Is there something wrong that I probably wanted to become more attractive to women thanks to my creative activity? I do not think so. Especially when we realize that many choices also possess an unconscious factor. Does this mean I want to break up with my beloved girlfriend, Kamilka? On the contrary, I want us to live together and ever until the end of our days. Why? Because I love her. And what about you, my Dear Friend? Are you driven to create art by the possibility of becoming someone more attractive to the opposite sex? These questions are not meant to judge but to spark a deeper understanding of our motivations.
