Today (I wrote this text on the 2nd of November, 2023), I will try to explain why writing for myself is more fulfilling than writing for others.
I do not trace trends of what bloggers should write. I write as if I were the only reader of my notes. Does it make sense at all? I believe it has. Why? Because writing as if no one would ever read my writings is much more meaningful. It will have a much more significant impact on the readers who read them in the future. I do not know what other bloggers or photographers write about (except Eric Kim; I sometimes visit his blog). I imagine many photographers write about equipment. I rarely mention I have taken photos with the good, old Nikon D90 since the beginning of 2012.
Nothing changed since that time. I do not desire to change my camera.
At the same time, I do not plan to write about photographic, virtual, or artistic trends. I prefer rocking in the clouds, musing, and then transforming my insights into words written on a white and virtual sheet of paper. Undoubtedly, Dostoyevsky or Lem (my favorite writers) also did not trace trends of what other writers were writing about. Of course, they were reading other works. Still, they’ve been writing what they appeared in their mind and imagination.
That’s how I want to do it.
This post is not an exception. I write my thoughts straight out of my mind. I am writing for myself without thinking about what other people will think about it and how they will judge it. Supposing you manage a blog, my Dear Friend, I recommend you write for yourself rather than for me or your blog’s visitors. Transform your thoughts into words without overthinking what others will think about it. Trust your own guts and forget about other’s opinions.
