I believe that people, while searching for well-being, usually ask wrong questions.
As long as I live (I wrote this post on the 26th of August, 2021), I often hear wrong questions like: what should I eat to be healthy? Should I resign from eating meat? Should I eat more vegetables? Many times I heard similar inquires. Still, I believe that these questions are misleading. Since I started to do intermittent fasting, I think that the crucial question one should ask regarding being healthy is:
How often should I eat?
What’s the answer to this question? Less is more. The more extended period of fasting, the better for your health. Why? Because organism does not have to spend much energy on digesting food. In my imagination, I compare digesting to running software on the computer. Some software (e.g., computer games) is slowing down computers efficiently. In this case, other parts of computers are not working correctly or working only on the 20% of their abilities.
Regarding digesting food, I believe it is quite a similar issue.
While fasting, your body organs regenerate, inflammations are being reduced, and in general, you feel better. I know it not from imagination but from my experiences. Dr. Jason Fung’s book, named „The complete guide to fasting,” helped me much in all these issues. That’s why you should not listen to me, but better read Dr. Fung’s book. While breaking your fast, you can eat as much as you want. Of course, it is always better to avoid sugar, processed food while eating. So how often I do eat? I eat only between 7 p.m. – 12 p.m. During this time, I try not to eat sugar and processed food. I drink only water, coffee, or broth during the fasting period. Do not ask yourself wrong questions, my Dear Friend. Start questioning how often will you eat.
