Today (I wrote this text on the 8th of March, 2025), I pushed my limits by exceeding the magical border of having 30 kg (66 lbs) on my back and shoulders while rucking.
I know I’ve already mentioned in my previous post that I was already walking with a tremendous weight of 30 kg. Still, yesterday, I was returning from my office, and some weights (e.g., of my laptop) were not confirmed. Today, I was walking with an additional weight of 28 kg of barbell plates. Knowing that my rucksack weight was 2.3 kg, I knew that the minimum weight I carried was 30.3 kg. How many steps did I take? Almost 11k. How did I feel after rucking? I felt great.
Nevertheless, I was tired.
I remember always being exhausted after walking and doing street photography after taking a minimum of 10k steps. I did not need additional barbell plates to feel tired. Today, I simply need them to become more powerful humans, not only physically but also mentally. The great news is that I took 110 photos while rucking. It means that heavy equipment does not prevent me from doing street photography. Also, I was walking in summer clothes.
Nevertheless, it was truly hot outside (the thermometer showed 24 degrees Celsius [75 degrees Fahrenheit]).
I hope that the temperature will decrease within the next few days, so I will still be able to cool down my body outside. I cannot wait for tomorrow’s rucking with 30 kg on my back and shoulders. Again, it will hurt. Nevertheless, there is no gain without pain. Since I discovered rucking, casual, chilling walking changed to horrific ways of finding and rediscovering myself. The truth is that I literally did not know that I was able to carry such heavy loads. I do not have any specific plans or expectations regarding rucking. After all, I do not know what the future holds. Still, I hope I will be able to gradually increase the weight of my rucksack until the end of my life.
