I wrote this text on the 21st of March, 2026. It was a day when I took 416 photos in a single photo walk.
I know I wrote many times on the www.adammazek.com blog that we should kick the number out of the art world. In general, I agree with myself. Still, sometimes, I simply must write about numbers. After all, I am working in a broadly defined finance area. Today, I did not break my record in terms of taking photos in a single day (I did it on the 11th of March, 2026, when I took 880 pictures after taking 31k steps). Still, on the 11th of March, it took me almost eight hours of walking, including two longer breaks for a coffee, reading a book, and peeing. Also, on the 11th of March, I did not have a heavy rucksack. Today, I had a backpack weighing 37.5 kg (83 lbs) on my back and shoulders.
Yes, I had three breaks on the bench, but they were not as long as the ones when I was reading and drinking coffee (I would say that between the 11th and 13th of March, 2026, when I took in total 80k steps, I behaved like a tourist in Warsaw).
While writing all these things, I realized that breaks on the benches also contributed to the number of pictures I took today. Still, I believe that the most significant impact was the fact that during the last two days, I was working for 13 hours twice. After staring in the screen for so many hours I believe that the possibility of seeing something different, I would say something new (even though I was walking on the same streets as in the past, I realized, not for the first time in my life, that each day is totally differrent than the previous ones and there is always something worthwile to photograph even though we were in the same place for the umpteenth times earlier) was a great option.
