Today (I wrote this text on the 24th of April, 2026), I told myself (not the first time in my life) that a day passed without street photography is a day lost.
How happy I was that I could finish my professional job after eight hours, go out, and do street photography. After finishing my work (I was working remotely), I felt truly fatigued. I had a thought to resign from walking and taking pictures on Warsaw’s streets. I felt I wanted to have a lazy, peaceful Friday afternoon. Luckily, my beloved Kamilka noticed it and proposed taking a short walk with me. I did not reject her offer. We took 10k steps. Also, I took 50 pictures. Not that much, but I was rather focusing on chatting with my beloved Kamilka. Still, while walking, I was simply glad we went out of our home. It was mild, cloudy spring weather. The streets were not crowded. I enjoyed the possibility of walking and talking to Kamilka.
How happy I am that the next two days will be the weekend, and I won’t have to stare at the monitor for a minimum of eight hours.
Now, while writing this text, I am getting sleepy. Still, I am mad at myself. I am mad that I let my professional job win over my passion. It should not look like that. Still, I plan to use overtime. That’s why I believe days without street photography are not precisely lost. Sometimes too much is going on with my professional job, and sometimes I feel I am too responsible, devoting my free time to deliver various things on time. For today, that’s how it looks. I will cherish what I have, and the fact is that during the last three days, I was doing street photography. Also, I will be rucking and taking pictures on Warsaw’s streets tomorrow. It does not look so bad.
