Nowadays, we can hear from many sources (especially those connected with mainstream media on the Internet or TV) that we should avoid adversity.
In general, the media tells us that our life should be full of joy and happiness. Smiling faces from the billboards tell us that if we buy the company “X,” we will be happy. Now, I want to introduce you, my Dear Friend, to some facts from Fyodor Dostoyevski’s life:
– during his adolescent years, he was accused of being in conspiration against the Russian Tsar and sentenced to death;
– shortly before the execution would take place, he was pardoned and sent on exile to the remote nook of Siberia;
– he spent on the expulsion ten years of his life;
– after coming back from Siberia, he had two wives;
– after the death of the first wife, he had depression;
– famous Russian writer was hazard addicted;
– due to the debts, he had to live in Western Europe for some years;
– one of his children died at a very young age.
Why did I write about all these facts? I want to show you, my Dear Friend, that joy and happiness are not an essential part of our lives.
It is the adversity that makes us stronger. Adversities empower us. As we can see in Dostoyevski’s biography facts, he had numerous misfortunes in his life. But, at the same time, he was a tremendously prolific writer. Today he is a true legend of the writing history in humankind.
What lesson can we learn from today’s post?
1) Do not listen to advertisements and all the bullshit which you see on the screens.
2) Accept adversity, no matter how complicated the issue is.
3) Create art. It is one of the best ways to remain immortal after death.
