Today (I wrote this text on the 15th of May, 2026), I took almost 29k steps in one day. How was it possible?
After one hour of working in my professional job, the Financial Statements for which I had been working for a few months, at last, had been signed! Once I knew it, I asked for a day off (I had many overtime hours submitted earlier). Then, knowing that the day was ideal to take a walk, I decided to take a long walk. I decided to go from my home (Woronicza Street in the Mokotów district) to the Młociny Subway Station in the Bielany district. After reaching my aim after a three-and-a-half-hour walk (I took a break in a coffee bar), I returned home by subway, and the last part of my journey was on foot. Did I enjoy taking 29k steps in one day? Of course, I did. I needed it. I missed walking. How many photos did I take? I took 465 pictures.
Not bad for a single walk.
Undoubtedly, I will repeat such a long walk in the future. The truth is that I’ve already made such a walk this year. It happened between the 11th and 13th of March, when I had an unexpected break due to the cyber attack on my employer’s cyber resources. After doing it in March, I knew I would want to repeat this kind of walking (usually I aim to take 10k steps, but during these longer walks I would aim to take 30k steps). I hope that next week I will be able to repeat similar long walks. After all, I will have two days off. Why do I not plan to do it during the weekend? It is because I want to walk with a rucksack weighing 40.5 kg (89 lbs). While walking with such a heavy burden, I cannot imagine taking 30k steps.
