Am I single-minded?

June 8, 2026 by Adam Mazek

I wrote this text on the 21st of December, 2025. It was a day when I asked myself if I was single-minded.

What does it mean to be single-minded? According to the Cambridge Dictionary, to be single-minded means to be:

very determined to achieve something, working to achieve a goal even if it is difficult.

Once I read this definition, I realized that, indeed, I am single-minded. After all, without this specific characteristic, I would not run the www.adammazek.com blog for over eight years (I published the first post on the 1st of September, 2017). Also, I would not be so determined to do street photography for over ten years (e.g., today I made over 200 pictures on Warsaw’s streets; I started doing it in October 2015) and write texts in a foreign language (my native language is Polish), English (I’ve been regularly writing since May 2017).

Even if there are difficulties while doing all these things (e.g., lack of time or fatigue), I am really driven to do something for my creative passion.

The goal of all my artistic activities is to do them until I am 100 years old. Of course, I hope to do it while being healthy. That’s why I hope that intermittent fasting (I do not eat earlier than 7 p.m.), exposing my body to cold by taking cold showers and walking in summer clothes in frigid temperaturs (e.g., today, I took over 12.5k steps while it was 3 degrees Celsius [37 degrees Fahrenheit] and I was wearing only the www.adammazek.com t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers – I did not have even winter cap and gloves!), and rucking (today, I was walking with a backpack weighing 37.5 kg [83 lbs] and I did not do any single break!) will help me to maintain health as long as possible.

While writing all these things, I realized I am also consistent.

In the Gallup Strengths Insight Guide, I read that to be consistent, it can mean that I am not only aware of the need to treat people equally, but also that I crave stable routines, clear rules, procedures, and behaviors. Consistency is my strength number 7. Perhaps in other posts, I will write more about my other top talents.
