It was the fourth of April 2020. We were still in the middle (I hoped so!) of the coronavirus epidemic in Poland. For two weeks, I had a break from walking and taking photos.
Am I sad because of that? Yes, I would lie if I would tell that I am not worried that I cannot develop my passion and take a walk to remain healthy. Nevertheless, I understood the epidemic situation connected with coronavirus. Thus, I merely accepted that I could not go out and take a walk. The break from walking and taking photos, for me, was something stressful.
Nevertheless, I was aware that I must be responsible for my beloved Kamilka, my family, and society as a whole system. I treated the pandemic connected with coronavirus as force majeure.
In the same, I approached the situation that I couldn’t walk and take pictures in the same way as I would be ill. There are some situations, and there can be more of them, in the future, that they will prevent me from doing my passion. Are there any advantages to this situation? Yes, there are. As usual, in every case, I try to find benefits and focus on them.
So, what are the gains of being impossible to take photos and to develop passion?
Without a doubt, you could ask me, my Dear Friend. First of all, I have more time for my beloved Kamilka. I regretted that traveling between the cities those days was difficult due to the epidemic. Thus, I could not visit my dear parents, who live in Brok. What are the other benefits of taking a break from walking and taking photos?
I write a lot. Almost every day, I write a new text for this blog.
Sooner or later, when we can go out and walk, I will be focusing on taking photos. Thus, I write texts (including this one) for the future. Who knows, perhaps it will be published probably at the end of 2020. Luckily, I still have tonnes of pictures that are awaiting for being checked, modified in Lightroom, and published on the www.adammazek.com website. Lastly, thanks to the forced break from walking, I have more time to read. Many books are still waiting to be read.
As you can see, my Dear Friend, we can always try to notice as many advantages as possible, even if the worst crisis is still up to come (I hope not).
