In the “Wrist pain” post, I wrote that I have had chronic back pain since 2015. Has anything changed in this regard?
Luckily, yes, something has changed regarding my chronic back pain. Pains have disappeared. I’m sure this is due to exposing my body to the cold and doing intermittent fasting. I’ve been exposing my body to cold for over two years. I wrote this text on the 15th of June, 2023, and started taking cold showers in April 2021. Since then, the pains have evidently eased. There are days and weeks during which I forget I have chronic back pain. How did exposing my body to coldness help me overcome pain? I am not a physiotherapist. Still, it is no coincidence that most professional football players (and other athletes) use cryotherapy to ease the pain and regenerate the body faster.
Still, what does intermittent fasting have in common with overcoming chronic back pain?
I believe it does. I started doing intermittent fasting in December 2020. I have done it for more than two and a half years. Since I started fasting, I have avoided processed food as much as possible. Before I started fasting, I ate a lot of processed food. Intermittent fasting helped me to stop being a slave to addictive, processed food. But what does processed food have in common with my back pain? After all, this pain appeared because I was not sitting ergonomically in the office. It was a mechanical injury.
Still, it was a chronic pain.
I heard I would have it practically until my death. How wrong other people were by saying such things! Processed food evokes inflammations in human bodies. If you eat it frequently in enormous amounts, rashes become part of one’s life! By minimalizing eating processed food, I started to be a free man! That’s how I overcame my chronic back pain.
