I often wonder whether our civilization’s self-destruction is only a theory, or whether it can be fulfilled. Unfortunately, I think that the second option is more likely to come true than the first one.
How human civilization’s self-destruction could look like? Is a nuclear war scenario possible? I think that it is possible. Since the initial creation of such a weapon, every situation is possible. We can destroy each other, and after it, there can be an option of a post-apocalyptical world. The fact is that since the earliest human wars, we somehow directed ourselves to civilization’s self-destruction. I would say that killing each man is, in a very symbolic way, our self-destruction.
Any solution by which a person dies is not the right solution for any conflict.
However, realistically looking at possible solutions to many conflicts between different nations can not do without victims. Therefore, in a sense, human civilization has been in a lost position from the very beginning. The facts are sad, but the truth is that people have killed each other, they kill so far, and they will kill each other until the last representative of our species falls. It can be done in a nuclear-weapon conflict.
Is there any other option of our civilization’s self-destruction? Yes. Speaking shortly: ecology is another sad example of how we can self-destruct ourselves.
Can we avoid human civilization’s self-destruction? I believe we can. How to do it? We should destroy all nuclear weapons, provide strict ecological rules in every country, and destroy all biological, chemical weapons. Is it possible to obtain this solution? I do not think so. That’s it can be a matter of time when we all destruct each other. What is worse, every single death of a human is, in a very symbolic way, our self-destruction. Speaking shortly: maybe the end of an only human is a metaphorical civilization’s self-destruction, a minor apocalypse?
