Today (I wrote this text on the 6th of February, 2026), I will write about my relationship with cold during the time of my right calf injury.
In the second part, the temperatures in Warsaw were reaching even -17 degrees Celsius (1.4 degrees Fahrenheit).
Still, due to my injury, I did not even try to challenge myself in such low temperatures. Why? I cannot explain it precisely.Still, I can explain what I feel. Since I got the injury in the middle of January 2026 (to be more precise, it happened on the 15th of January), I do not need to expose my body to cold. I feel that when I am not 100% healthy, my organism does not feel the desire to challenge itself with frigid temperatures.
I do not know why.
The truth is that I do not have the desire to take cold showers. I take only showers with lukewarm water. I believe that my feelings prove that I was healthy during the period I started exposing my body to cold until I got an injury. Now I feel that when I am not 100% healthy, I do not want to feel too cold. I think that’s how our organisms are built. If we do not feel 100% healthy, perhaps we do not seek challenges like coping with coldness.
