The longer I manage the www.adammazek.com blog, the more I see myself publishing my personal deliberations on art here.
I do not believe there is one and the ultimate definition of art. Undoubtedly, art is a powerful, busy current that flows, penetrates, and permeates practically all fields of life, with culture at the forefront. I have already written a post entitled “Art Is Everywhere.” The truth is that I see beauty in every usual and mundane piece of reality. I always try to excavate and transform this seemingly dull piece of truth into an extraordinary, different, odd, and magical dream. Nothing has to be explained, answered, and sure in the art world. This is contrary to the world of accountancy, where each amount must be appropriately calculated, clarified, and presented. I love my deliberations on art. I love rocking in the clouds.
The more I deliberate on art, the more I see that I am sometimes inconsistent. Is there something wrong?
I do not think so. Like art itself, the world is ambiguous, contradictory, unclear, ambivalent, and vague. The same is true with me. I am only an imperfect human. I can be wrong on many themes.
Moreover, I can change my mind on many issues. That’s the way it is. While writing about all these issues, I realized I do not aim to provide one ultimate theory about art. Undoubtedly, my insights about art are constantly flowing. One thing is sure for me. One of the main aims of art is to evoke feelings in recipients and audiences.
I wrote this text while listening to Simply Red’s song “Holding Back The Years.” Mick Hucknall, Simply Red’s lead singer, undoubtedly knows how to evoke feelings in people’s minds. OK, I will finish writing about my deliberations on art. I must go to sleep. Without a night of healthy sleep, there won’t be great works of art.
