When I saw my post titled “Fight for Yourself,” I found it worthwhile to expand and add a train of thought that clarifies the title: “Fight for yourself with yourself.”
Undoubtedly, I can fight for myself with myself by doing three things mentioned below:
- doing workout;
- doing intermittent fasting;
- exposing the body to cold (e.g., by taking cold showers or walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures.).
I’ve been addicted to eating sugar throughout my lifetime. I have no doubts that intermittent fasting helped me in overcoming this issue. Was I addicted to anything else? No, I do not think so. Still, I have no doubts that, thanks to intermittent fasting, I became a free man. Earlier, I felt like a slave when I saw candies, milk chocolate, ice cream, or cookies. Undoubtedly, I was a cookie monster.
I could not resist eating sugar.
I had to do it, and that’s why I was overweighed. For seven years in a row, I fought it by swimming regularly. Still, the truth is that I had to increase the time spent in the swimming pool. I was merely exhausted and did not see a rescue for me not to be fat and devoting my time mainly to the sport. Intermittent fasting solved my problem. Now I see that nowadays people eat too frequently. Moreover, I know they tend to overeat processed food with too many carbohydrates. That’s how humans are slowly killing themselves. That’s how you can fight for yourself with yourself, my Dear Friend. Start fasting. Even religions recommend doing it.
Is doing a workout fighting with oneself?
Of course, it is. We tend to lie on the couch or sit at the table. Physical activity is getting out of my comfort zone minimally. On the other hand, exposing the body to a frigid cold is getting out of your comfort zone, as hardcore people do. Am I hardcore? I had already heard people had called me this way.
