Today (I wrote this text on the 24th of July, 2023), I will write some thoughts about hope for the future.
Where do I see hope for the future? Undoubtedly, I do not see it in the East, where the Russian orcs are still attacking and occupying part of Ukraine. Still, I see hope for the future in the starry night. How is it possible? I believe that science and art can work together to create a better world. They already do it not only via analog photographs but thanks to pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and James Webb Space Telescope. Undoubtedly, the best is yet to come regarding breathtaking images and groundbreaking data provided by the telescopes. I believe the same issue is with my pictures. The truth is that I have been regularly doing street photography for almost eight years.
I made tens of thousands of images of Warsaw’s streets during that time. Still, I believe the best images are yet to come.
Each photo walk, each picture brings me close to the ultimate aim of being the best street photographer who ever stomped on this planet. What do I mean by being the best? I must admit it: I do not know. I suppose, for me, to become successful in photography means to be the most prolific artist. Creating and being artistically active until my final days is my hope for the future. Every day, I wake up and wonder whether I will write a groundbreaking text today or take the best shot of my life on Warsaw’s street. I cannot wait for another photo walking on the same level as the new pictures and information provided by the James Webb Space Telescope. The truth is that I believe not only in youth. Despite the atrocities and cruelties the Russian orcs still do in Ukraine, I believe in humanity.
