Practically, each day, I feel I am bombarded with bad news.
Mostly, I read about them on the Internet. After writing the first sentences of this text, I asked myself why I read the news on the Internet. Perhaps I am simply dumb, and I need to change my way of living. Nevertheless, how do we not become overwhelmed by the mass and usually bad information that most of us are bombarded with every single day? I do not know what would work for you, my Dear Friend. But I know what worked for me.
Undoubtedly, a broadly defined creation process (with street photography and writing at the forefront), intermittent fasting (I do not eat earlier than 7 p.m.), exposing my body to cold (by taking cold showers and walking in summer clothes in freezing temperatures), and (last but not least), rucking, helped me to become much more robust and confident man.
These personal routines have been a lifeline, helping me manage the impact of bad news. The truth is that I do not feel overwhelmed by the bad news anymore. I know that 99.9% of everything happening in this world is out of my control. That’s why I always try not to be overwhelmed by what I read in the news. So, undoubtedly, the best way to not be overpowered by bad news is to simply not read it. Still, if you read them, direct your mind to other activities, my Dear Friend.
Go out and take a walk with a heavy rucksack (for beginners, I recommend putting a bottle full of water in your backpack), enjoy the surroundings of your reality, and take photos of whatever catches your eye.
These activities have not only helped me cope with the overwhelming news but also led to personal growth and a sense of empowerment. These are my suggestions for today, my Dear Friend. I do not recommend escaping to eating, drinking, or smoking. All these things make things worse sooner or later.
