I am an amateur because I photograph only what pleases me, without much concern for what others, including clients, prefer.
This freedom allows me to express my artistic vision without compromise, and it is a liberating and empowering experience. I often hear how companies, freelancers, etc., must listen to their clients. Without it, there won’t be sales. If there are no sales, everyone in the company will be sad because there won’t be a money inflow. How happy I am. I do not have a photographic company, and I am not a freelancer. I do what I want to do from my artistic perspective. Thanks to the fact I work in a broadly defined finance, I do not honestly care what other people would think about all my photographs and texts because I do not produce them to satisfy anyone’s needs.
My work in finance provides me with the stability and freedom to pursue my artistic interests without the pressure of commercial success.
Thanks to being an amateur and forgetting about money while creating, I feel like a free man. Without a shadow of a doubt, I am the one. Also, I feel like a happy man. Why? It is because I create something out of nothing. Undoubtedly, the desire to design, build, evoke feelings in audiences’ minds and souls, and transform ideas into reality is something that differentiates us, people, from animals. I do not want to be like a cow whose existence’s aim is to eat, digest and shit.
That’s why I do intermittent fasting.
Undoubtedly, I will be fasting until the end of my life. Also, I hope I will be writing texts until my final end. Does it mean I want to become a professional in this scope? No. As for photography, I am also an amateur in writing. I do not aim to live from selling books. I do not bother and care at all whether my texts sell or not. Also, I do not panic when I lack the inspiration to write something new and meaningful.
