I wrote the “I bought the fourth Nikon D-90” text on the 6th of January, 2026.
It was a day when I published a post entitled “I bought the third Nikon D-90.” After reading it straight after publishing it, I decided to check on eBay and Amazon to see if there are other relatively hardly used Nikon D-90 cameras with my favorite DX 18-105mm VR gear. The truth is that I have been using this set (Nikon D-90 and DX 18-105mm VR gear) since February 2012 (it was the date when I bought this set for the first time in my life). I do not plan to change it. That’s why I checked if there were good offers and bought the fourth Nikon D-90. As of today, the first Nikon D-90 is already kaputt. I am doing street photography with the second exemplar I bought. The third one is my reserve in Warsaw.
I plan to bring the fourth one, the one I bought today, to Brok, to my beloved Parents’ house.
Considering I was doing street photography with the first one for twelve years, I hope I am future-proofed for the next 30-35 years. I wrote this text while being forty years old. Perhaps I will be able to photograph with the Nikon D-90 for the rest of my life. I do not plan to change my camera. Sometimes I wonder if wandering through the streets of Warsaw is an end in itself. Maybe it’s not about street photography at all? I do not know it. The truth is that I sometimes forget I have a camera in my hand, because I am so detached or I am rocking so high in the clouds, that I am forgetting about my mundane, beautiful surroundings.
Then, suddenly, a visual struck my eyes.
It is a moment when I point my camera towards the object I want to photograph and take a picture. That’s why I prefer to walk with an extension of my arm, which is my favorite camera. That’s why I bought the fourth exemplar. Undoubtedly, I will need it in the future. I do not want to change my camera.
PS
It is my 2218th written text, and it was the first time I mentioned which gear I use. Perhaps it’s not about street photography at all.
