I want to try it.

July 27, 2026 by Adam Mazek

Tomorrow (I wrote this text on the 3rd of February, 2026), I will try to walk with 5 kg (11 lbs) on my back and shoulders. I want to try it.

Also, tomorrow, I plan to go to the office. I simply need to sometimes get out of our home and be somewhere else. It is not the case that I do not like our home. I love living with my beloved Kamilka and our kitty Azorek, and I spend time with them. Still, even if I have an injured leg, knowing that I can walk slowly, I want to go somewhere else sometimes. I believe it’s quite normal, even if I still have some issues with my leg. Also, it’s been almost three weeks since the last time I did rucking. It was on the 15th of January, 2026, that is during the day when I slipped on the ice and got a hematoma in my right calf. I feel my muscles are vanishing slowly.

That’s why I decided to take 5 kg in my backpack tomorrow.

I won’t consider it a return to rucking. Perhaps when I reach 10 kg (22 lbs), I will name it returning to rucking. For now, it is too early for it. Still, I think that such a minimal weight, like 5 kg, should not hurt me anyhow. On the other side, my muscles should feel a little of this burden. So they will remind themselves that they exist. I want to try it. Of course, I hope I won’t slip on the ice. After all, on the day of injury, I was walking in sneakers on the ice (I was stupid). Tomorrow, I plan to have warm winter boots, which should help me prevent slipping on ice. Keep your fingers crossed, my Dear Friend. I am wondering when I will return to my highest possible rucksack’s weight, 37.5 kg (83 lbs).
