I will do it.

Today (I wrote this text on the 7th of May, 2026), I made one choice. The day after tomorrow, on Saturday, I will go rucking with a 40 kg rucksack. I will do it.

Today, I finished my work normally, that is, after eight hours. I worked remotely. I felt I had energy not only to walk, but also to carry that heavy weight. That’s why I decided to walk with the highest possible (as of now, for me) weight of 37.5 kg (83 lbs). Was it difficult? Yes, it was. I believe it won’t be easy for me to walk with such a heavy load on the same level, as it won’t be easy to walk in summer clothes in -5 degrees Celsius (23 degrees Fahrenheit). That’s the way it is. Still, today, I simply felt I needed something more. Even though I took 12k steps without a break, I felt I needed more weight on my back and shoulders. I think that my body somehow adapted to 37.5 kg, and to grow, it needs new stimulation.

It needs an increase in the weight of my burden while rucking.

While writing this text, I decided to put an additional 3 kg of barbell plates in my rucksack. It means I will walk with a rucksack weighing 40.5 kg (89 lbs). I think that once additional barbell plates are in my rucksack, I won’t resign from breaking my record. Am I afraid? Yes, I am. I hope I won’t hurt myself. When did I increase the weight of my rucksack? It happened in June 2025. If I manage to break my record the day after tomorrow, it would mean that I have increased my weight after almost a year. Well, I believe it is a characteristic of truly heavyweights. Keep your fingers crossed for me, my Dear Friend. I will do it, no matter what happens.
