It is quality that counts, not quantity.

We all know it. I agree that what matters is quality, not quantity.

Nevertheless, in the case of photography and writing (I suspect that also in many other fields, not only those related to art), to strive for quality and perfection (which no one will ever achieve, by the way), you need to create as many works as possible. Of course, in today’s text, I will focus on my creative activities, that photographing and writing. I have no doubt that we must struggle to create as many pictures and texts as possible to receive quality. Suppose you cannot agree with me, my Dear Friend. In that case, I recommend studying and analyzing Vincent van Gogh’s, Salvador Dali’s, or Zdzislaw Beksinski’s works of art. They made countless paintings. To reach the highest possible of perfection, they had to walk a long road. During this creative, imaginative walk, they produced numerous, sometimes better, sometimes worse, works of art.

I have no doubt that the more I create, the better artist I become.

Every photograph and written text are subsequent steps forward to get to the unreachable point called “perfection.” How happy I am that something like perfection does not exist. Why am I happy because of this fact? It is because, for me, perfection is merely dull. This text is the text number 860th that I wrote for my website. I won’t provide the number of photographs I made since the beginning of my regular photo walkings, that is, since October 2015. Why won’t I do it? Because it would take too much time to count it, and I have more exciting things to do. Still, the estimated number would be tens of thousands of photographs. Is that mean that I reach the best quality in all my creative aspects? No. Whenever I write new text and take new pictures, I feel like I am starting from scratch.
