I never liked doing the washing-up.
That is why I have a dishwasher. Nevertheless, sometimes I have to do the washing-up. And you know what is funny, my Dear Guest? That often, the best ideas regarding my passion come to my mind while doing this usual activity. Yeah, it sounds a little bit weird, but I am quite sure that the level of our mood depends somehow (among other things) on the activity of our arms. Regular exercising shoulders, biceps, triceps, forearms, and hands are only the beginning of proving my theory.
I believe that we can notice a correlation between worked-out arms and a specific state of mind, in one of the groups of people: drummers and goalkeepers in football.
In general, people from these two groups are often considered as eccentric, crazy, specific, having their own opinion, individuals. Both groups possess a lot of examples of people who were genuinely inspiring and crazy, with all the positive repercussions of this word. Roger Taylor(The Queen), John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Keith Moon (The Who) on one side, and another: Peter Schmeichel (Manchester United/Denmark), Fabien Barthez (Manchester United/France) and Artur Boruc (Legia Warsaw/Poland).
What makes all these people so specific? All of them have to use their hands in their work. They do it often in an acrobatic way. They were cashing-in (and some of them, still do it) a lot of money for their artistic performances. Arms played a central role in this show. People want to celebrate such spectacles. Crowds appreciate and admire this kind of creative work. People want to see goalkeepers’ spectacular intervention. Moreover, they want to hear and experience drummers’ play.
I think that we should be somehow a little bit like goalkeepers and drummers.
Not only during doing the washing-up but for example while doing some sports. I love swimming, and as I mentioned before, in one of my previous posts, I often find the best solutions for my problems while swimming. Today, I usually stretch my body, including my arms.
What’s the most interesting in all these things, is the fact that it is not the accident that when we are celebrating something (e.g., while watching some sports events with our favorite teams and players in the leading role), we are raising our hands with the cheerful smile on our faces. Raised arms symbolize victory. This state of euphoria we call it a win, or success. Ok, it’s enough for today. I am coming back to finish the washing-up.
